Sweater with Rib Cables

Size: M 

Materials: 

Yarn: 5 hanks of Fio Cisne Acalanto by Сoats Сrafts (75% Polyester, 21% Acrylic, 4% Viscose, yardage = 200 m/100 g); 1 pair of knit needles size 5 mm (US 8) and 1 tapestry needle.

Reverse stocking stitch (Rev St st): Work RS rows P and WS rows K.

Cable Pattern A: 

Work according to chart A. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Cable Pattern B: 

Work according to chart B. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.  

Fancy Pattern: 

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear. 

Gauge: 

over Rev St st: 18 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:  

Cast on 80 sts and work 12 rows (= 6 ribs of gst) P. 

Cont in Rev St st. For side slants, at both ends dec 1 st 5 times on every 10th row, work 12 rows, then at both ends inc 1 st 3 times on every 10th row. 

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 42 cm from cast on, at each end bind off 4 sts once, 3 sts once and 1 st once on every 2nd row.  

When work measures 20 cm from armhole beg, bind off all sts. 

Front: 

Cast on 80 sts and work 12 cm P (= 6 ribs of gst). Inc evenly 15 sts on the last row.

Cont as foll: 13 sts in Rev St st, 19 sts in Cable Pattern A, 31 sts in Rev St st, 19 sts in Cable Pattern B, 13 sts in Rev St st. 

Work side slants same as for back.

After 33 cm from cast on cont in Fancy Pattern over center 69 sts. 

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 42 cm from cast on, at each end bind off 4 sts once, 3 sts once and 1 stitch once on every 2nd row. 

Neckline Shaping: After 13 cm from armhole beg, bind off center 19 sts and complete each side separately. At neckline edge bind off 3 sts twice and 2 sts once on every 2nd row.  

When work measures 20 cm from armhole beg, bind off all sts. 

Rep for other side. 

Sleeves: 

Cast on 36 sts and work 12 cm P (= 6 ribs of gst). Inc evenly 13 sts on the last row. 

Cont as foll: 15 sts in Rev St st, 19 sts in Cable Pattern A, 15 sts in Rev St st. 

Sleeve Slants: Inc 1 st 9 times on every 10th row each side.  

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 48 cm from cast on, at each end bind off 4 sts once, 3 sts once and 2 sts 10 times on every 2nd row.  

Then bind off remaining sts. 

Finishing: 

Sew one shoulder seam and side seams. 

Pick up 86 sts evenly along neckline and work in Rib Patt 1/1 (K1, P1 alt). 

When piece measures 16 cm from cast on, bind off all sts. 

Sew second shoulder seam and collar seam. 

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
