Sweater with Cables

Sizes: M-L

Materials:

Yarn: 700 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 100 g/100 m); 1 circular needle size 6 mm (US 10); crochet hook size 5 (US H).

Reverse stocking stitch (Rev St st): Work RS rows P and WS rows K.

Cable Pattern: 

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat rows 1-16 throughout.

Fancy Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat rows 1 and 2.

Gauge: 

over Rev St st: 13 sts and 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: 

Long-tail cast on 65 sts and work as foll: selv st, 17 sts in Rev St st, 29 sts in Cable Pattern, 17 sts in Rev St st, selv st.

Armhole Shaping: After 46 rows from beg, bind off at each end 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st once on every 2nd row. 

Neckline Shaping: After 30 rows from armhole beg, place center 29 sts on holder, work at each end 2 more rows and bind off rem 12 sts each side for shoulders. 

Front: Work same as back.

Sleeves:

Cast on 37 sts and work as foll: selv st, 11 sts in Rev St st, 13 sts in Fancy Pattern, 11 sts in Rev St st, selv st. 

Sleeve Shaping: Inc 1 stitch every 15th row 3 times at each end. 

Cap Shaping: After 60 rows from beg, at each end bind off 3 sts once, 1 st 12 times, 2 sts once and rem 9 sts once on every 2nd row.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams.

Collar Shaping: Transfer sts of neckline from holder onto circular needle. Pick up further 3 sts along front and back neck edge = 64 sts. 

Cont to work in Cable Pattern in rnds. Work 3 pick up sts in Rev St st.  

When collar meas 16 rows, bind off all sts loosely. 

Sew side and sleeve seams.

With crochet hook, work crab st (= sc from left to right) evenly around sleeves.
