Sweater in Wavy Pattern
Sizes: 12/14 (US 10/12)
Materials:
Yarn: 350 g (60% Mohair, 20 % Cotton, 20 % Acrylic, yardage = 250 m/50 g); one pair knit needles size 3mm (US 2,5) and one circular knitting needle each sizes 3 and 5mm (US 8).
The sweater is worked with double strand.
Rib Pattern: K1, P1 Rib.
Wavy Pattern:
Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.
Repeat Rows 1-36 thoughout.
Gauge:
in Wavy Pattern: 16 sts and 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Back:
Using 3mm needles, cast on 83 sts and work WS row 1 as foll: selv st, K3, * P10, K3, rep from * 4 times.
Cont in Wavy Patt as foll: selv st, P3 (= sts before patt rep), * 13 sts of patt rep, rep from * 5 times more (= a total of 6 patt reps), selv st.
Armhole Shaping: On Row 93 from beg, bind off 5 sts at each end, then 2 sts each side every other row twice, 1 stitch twice = 61 sts.
On Row 136 from beg, bind off all sts.
Front:
Work like back, but with neckline.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 116 from beg, bind off center 13 sts and 2 sts every other row 4 times at both neck edges.
On Row 136 from beg, bind off rem 16 shoulder sts on either side.
Sleeves:
Using 3mm needles, cast on 44 sts and work WS row 1 as foll: selv st, K3, * P10, K3, rep from * twice.
Cont in Wavy Patt as foll: selv st, P3 (= sts before patt rep), * 13 sts of patt rep, rep from * 2 times more (= a total of 3 patt reps), selv st.
Sleeve Shaping: On Row 10 from beg, inc 1 stitch at each end, then 1 stitch each side every 10th row 6 times = 58 sts.
Cap Shaping: On Row 84 from beg, bind off 4 sts at each end, then 2 sts each side every other row once, 1 stitch 9 times and 2 sts 4 times.
On Row 114 from beg, bind off rem 12 sts.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams.
Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
Collar: With circular needle size 3 mm, pick up 84 sts evenly around neck edge and work in Pib Pattern for 7 rnds.
Change to 5 mm circular needle and work 43 rnds in Rib Patt.
On Row 51 from beg, bind off all sts.
