Sweater in Lace Pattern
Sizes: 12/14 (US 10/12)
Materials:
Yarn: 500 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 123 m/100 g); one pair knit needles and one circular needle, both size 2 mm (US 00).
Rib Pattern: K2, P2 Rib.
Garter stitch: Knit on RS and WS rows.
Lace Pattern:
Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.
Repeat Rows 1-16 throughout.
Gauge:
in lace pattern: 18 sts and 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Back:
Cast on 84 sts and work 3 rows in gst, beg with 1 WS row.
Cont in lace patt.
Armhole Shaping: On Row 79 from border, at each end bind off 3 sts, then 2 sts every other row once and 1 stitch once = 72 sts.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 41 from beg armhole, bind off center 32 sts and 2 sts every other row 3 times at both neck edges.
On Row 49 from beg armhole, bind off rem 14 sts each side for shoulders.
Front:
Work like back, but with deeper neckline.
Neckline Shaping: On Row 33 from beg armhole, bind off center 20 sts and 3 sts every other row twice, 2 sts twice and 1 stitch twice at both neck edges.
On Row 49 from beg armhole, bind off rem 14 sts each side for shoulders.
Sleeves:
Cast on 38 sts and work 3 rows in gst, beg with 1 WS row.
Cont in lace patt.
Sleeve Shaping: At each end bind off 1 stitch every 9th row 11 times = 60 sts.
Cap Shaping: On Row 101 from border, bind off 3 sts at each end, then 3 sts every other row once, 2 sts twice, 1 stitch 4 times, 2 sts 3 times, 3 sts once and 4 sts once.
On Row 125 from border, bind off remaining 12 sts.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder and side seams.
Sew sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
Collar:
With circular needle, pick up 100 sts evenly around neck edge and work P1 rnd.
Cont to work 60 rnds in Rib Pat, and inc 12 sts evenly across 1st rnd = 112 sts.
On Rnd 27 from pick-up sts, inc P1 tbl every 4th purl ridge stripe 7 times = 119 sts.
On Rnd 39 from pick-up sts, repeat these increases = 126 sts.
On Rnd 47 from pick-up sts, inc P1 tbl in the remaining purl ridge stripes = 147 sts.
On Row 61 from pick-up sts, bind off all sts.
