Round Collar Pullover in Diamond Pattern

Sizes: M/L

Materials:

Yarn: 320 g (60% Mohair, 20% Wool, 20% Acrylic, 100 m per 50 g ball); one pair knit needles size 4 mm (US 6), one circular needle size 3 mm (US 2.5), crochet hook size 3 mm (US C).

Stocking stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Small Diamonds Pattern: 

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout. 

Diamond Pattern: 

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Work Rows 1 - 24 once, then repeat Rows 3 - 24 throughout.

Gauge:

in Diamond Pattern with 4 mm needles: 12.5 sts and 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back: 

Cast on 59 sts and work 25 rows in Diamond Pattern. Beg with sts before patt rep and end with sts after patt rep. 

Then work 14 rows in Small Diamonds Pattern and cont in Diamond Pattern. 

Armhole Shaping: On Row 63 from beg, bind off 5 sts at each end = 49 sts. 

On Row 37 from armhole beg, bind off all sts.

Front: 

Work like back, but with deeper neckline.

Neckline Shaping: On Row 67 from beg, bind off center st and, on either side of it, 1 stitch 4 times on every 2nd row and 1 stitch 8 times on every 3rd row.

On Row 37 from armhole beg, bind off rem 12 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 87 sts and work 24 rows in Diamond Pattern. Beg with sts before patt rep and end with sts after patt rep.

For flounce, on Row 25 from beg, work 2 sts tog = 44 sts. 

Then work 14 rows in Small Diamonds Pattern and cont in St st.

Sleeve Slant: On Row 9 from beg of St st, inc 1 stitch at each end, then 1 st 3 times on every 9th row = 52 sts.

Cap Shaping: On Row 41 from beg of St st, bind off 5 sts at each end, then on every 2nd row 2 sts twice, 1 st 8 times and 2 sts twice.

On Row 69 from beg, bind off rem 10 sts.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder seams.

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.

Collar: 

With circular needle pick up 86 sts evenly around neck edge and work 1 rnd in St st.

On Row 2 double the number of sts (make 2 from 1) = 172 sts. 

On Row 11 from beg, work Lace Panel acc to chart of Row 1 of Small Diamonds Pattern.

On Row 13 from beg, bind off all sts. 

With crochet hook, work crab st (= sc from left to right) evenly around collar edge.

With double strand and crochet hook, work cord of required size and pull it along neckline as shown in photo.
