Materials:
Yarn: 450 g (100% Merino Wool, 158 m/50 g); 1 pair quick knit needles and 1 circular knitting needle, both size 2.5; 3 buttons.
Garter st: RS and WS rows K.
Back:
Cast on 121 sts and work 1 cm in garter st for welt.
Cont as foll: Selv st, 25 sts foll Chart1, 69 sts foll Chart 2, 25 sts foll Chart 1 and Selv st.
Cont in pat as established until piece measures 48 cm from beg.
Shape armholes: At both ends cast off 4 sts, then on every foll alt row 2 sts twice and 1 st 5 times.
Armhole depth: 22 cm.
Shape neck: When work meas 68 cm from beg, cast off centre 27 sts and complete both sides separately.
For rounding at inside edge cast off 4 sts once and 2 sts once.
Cast off rem 21shoulder sts.
Right Front:
Cast on 65 sts and work 1 cm in garter st for welt.
Cont as foll: 4 sts in garter st for border, 10 sts foll Chart 1, 25 sts foll Chart 2, 25 sts foll Chart 1, Selv st.
Work 3 buttonholes at right front every 7 cm, working first buttonhole when piece measures 32 cm from beg.
Shape armhole: When work meas 48 cm from beg, cast off all sts as for back.
Shape neck: At the same time, when work meas 48 cm from beg, at right edge cast off 4 sts, then on every foll alt row 2 sts once and 1 st 16 times.
Cast off rem 21shoulder sts.
Left Front:
Work in reverse of Right Front, but without buttonholes.
Sleeves:
Cast on 63 sts and work 1 cm in garter st for welt.
Cont as foll: Selv st, 18 sts foll Chart 1, 25 sts foll Chart 2, 18 sts foll Chart 1, Selv st.
Cont in pat as established until work meas 15 cm from beg.
Shape sleeve: At both ends inc 1 st on 9 foll 14th rows.
Shape sleeve cap:When work meas 47 cm from begt: At both ends cast off 3 sts, then on every foll alt row 2 sts twice, 1 st 6 times, 2 sts 4 times, 3 sts twice and 4 sts once.
Cast off rem sts.
Finishing:
Join shoulder seams.
Sew in sleeves, join side and sleeve seams.
Neckband:
Using circular needle pick up sts along neckline and work 1cm in garter st.
Sew on buttons.
