Mesh Sweater

Sizes: 12/14 (US 10/12).

Materials:

Yarn: 900 g (70% Wool, 30% Acrylic, yardage = 100 m/100 g); one pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 3,5mm (US 4), one pair quick knit needles size 4mm (US 6).

Stocking stitch: work RS rows K and WS rows P; in rnds: work all rows K.

Rib Pattern: * K1, P1, rep from * throughout.

Main Pattern (Mesh Pattern):

Row 1: 1 edge st, * K2 tog (= knit 2 stitches together), yo (= yarn over); repeat from * throughout, end with 1 edge st.

Rows 2 and 4: work all sts and yo’s P.

Row 3: 1 edge st, * yo, skpo (= slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch); repeat from * throughout, end with 1 edge st.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.

Back:

Using needles size 3.5mm, cast on 64 sts and work 11 rows in Rib Patt for border, increasing 2 sts on the last WS row = 66 sts.

Using needles size 4mm, continue in Main Pattern.

On Row 133 from border, bind off all sts.

Front:

Work like back, but with neckline.

Neckline Shaping: On Row 109 from border, bind off center 16 sts and dec 1 stitch every other row 3 times at both neck edges.

On Row 133 from border, bind off rem 19 shoulder sts on either side.

Sleeves:

Using needles size 3.5mm, cast on 32 sts and work 11 rows in Rib Pat.

Using needles size 4mm, continue in Main Pattern.

Sleeve Shaping: On Row 10 from border, increase 1 stitch at each end, then 1 stitch each side every 10th row 8 times = 50 sts.

On Row 110 from border, bind off all sts.

Finishing:

Sew side seam and join shoulder seams.

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves.

Neck Band: With circular needle, pick up 72 sts evenly around neck edge and work 8 rnds in Rib Pat and 10 rnds in Stocking stitch. 

On Row 19 from beg, bind off all sts with a knitted seam.
