Lace Short Sleeve Sweater

Size: 14-16 (US 10-12).

Materials:

Yarn: 350 g (100% Cotton, yardage = 240 m/50 g); one pair quick knit needles 4,5 mm (US 7) and crochet hook size 3mm (US C). 

Always work with two strands of yarn.

Stocking stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Lace Pattern:

Work according to chart. Only Right Side rows are shown.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear, work yo's P.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 st after patt rep and 1 edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-44 for pattern.

Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back:

Cast on 99 sts and knit 1 row.

Continue as follows: 1 edge st, 3 sts in Stockinette stitch, 91 sts in Lace Pattern (= work 18-st rep 5 times + 1 stitch), 3 sts in Stockinette stitch, 1 edge st.

For the Armhole Shaping, after 39 cm from beg, bind off at each end 5 sts once and on every 2nd row 2 sts twice and 1 st 3 times = 75 sts.

For the Neck Shaping, after 58 cm from beg, bind off center 19 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge on every 2nd row, bind off 3 sts twice.

When piece measures 60 cm from beg, bind off remaining 22 sts each side for shoulders.

Front:

Work like back, but with deeper neckline.

For the Neck Shaping, after 55 cm from beg, bind off center 15 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge, on every 2nd row, bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 3 times.

When piece measures 60 cm from beg, bind off remaining 22 sts each side for shoulders.

Sleeves:

Cast on 61 sts and knit 1 row.

Continue as follows: 1 edge st, 11 sts in Stockinette stitch, 37 sts in Lace Pattern (= work 18-st rep twice + 1 stitch), 11 sts in Stockinette stitch, 1 edge st.

For the Cap Shaping, after 8 cm from beg, bind off at each end 5 sts once and on every 2nd row 2 sts twice, 1 st 10 times, 2 sts twice, 3 sts once and remaining 9 sts once.

Finishing:

Sew Shoulder seams.

Crochet 1 rnd crab stitch (= sc from left to right) around neck edge.

Sew in sleeves, join side and sleeve seams.
