Dress and Arm Warmers in Textured Pattern

Size: M

Materials: 

Yarn: 400 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic) for dress and 150 g for arm warmers; 1 pair quick knit needles and double-pointed needles, both size 4 mm (US 6).

Seed Stitch: alt K2, P2. Move pattern over 2 sts on every 3rd row. 

Reverse stocking stitch (Rev st st): Work RS rows P and WS rows K. 

Textured Pattern: 

Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout. 

Rib Pat: alt K1, P1.

Cable Pattern:

Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-4 throughout.  

Dress:

Front: 

Cast on 140 sts and work 2 rows in Rev St st. 

Cont as foll: work 27 sts in Seed Stitch at beg and end of row, work in Textured Pattern in the middle, work 4 sts in Rev St st on either side.  

When work measures 10 cm, at each end dec 1 stitch in Seed Stitch on every 6th row.

Raglan Shaping: When piece measures 53 cm from beg, at each end bind off 3 sts, then 1 st 6 times on every 4th row.

When piece measures 70 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Work same for back.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 70 sts and work in Textured Pattern.

Raglan Shaping: At each end bind off 1 st 6 times on every 4th row. 

When piece measures 13 cm, bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Sew side seams. Set in sleeves. 

Pick up 90 sts evenly around neck edge and work 4 cm in Rib Patt. Then bind off all sts as they appear.

Arm Warmers:

With dpn, cast on 33 sts and divide evenly on 4 needles. 

Work 5 cm in Rib Pattern in rnds. 

Then work 30 cm in Cable Pattern. Inc 2 sts on every 6th row working sts into patt.

When piece measures 35 cm from beg, work 5 cm more in Rib Pattern and bind off all sts.
