Cardigan with Pockets

Size: 12 (US 10)

Materials:

Yarn: 700 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 240m / 100g), 1 pair of knit needle size 3.5 mm (US 4), crochet hook size 3 mm, 7 buttons.

Rib Pattern: alt K1, P1 Rib.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Basic Pattern:

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown. On WS rows, work sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-14 throughout.

Back:

Cast on 101 sts and work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 7 cm from cast on, work in Basic Patt.

Continue even.

Armhole shaping: When piece measures 64 cm from cast on, bind off 4 sts, then on every 2nd row 3 sts once and 2 sts twice.

Cont even.

Neckline shaping: When piece measures 81 cm from cast on, bind off center 25 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at neckline edge, bind off 2 sts twice on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 86 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Right Front:

Cast on 55 sts and work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 7 cm from cast on, work in Basic Patt.

Work even.

Armhole shaping: When piece measures 64 cm from cast on, on left side bind off 4 sts, then on every 2nd row 3 sts once and 2 sts twice.

Cont even.

When piece measures 76 cm from cast on, on right side bind off 12 sts.

For rounding at neckline edge, bind off 3 sts twice and 2 sts twice on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 86 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Left Front: Work in reverse.

Sleeves:

Cast on 33 sts and work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 7 cm from cast on, work in Basic Patt.

For sleeve shaping, inc 1st at each end on every 6th row.

Cap Shaping: When piece measures 47 cm from cast on, bind off 4 sts at both ends, then on every 2nd row 3 sts 3 times, 1 st 10 times and 2 sts 3 times.

When piece measures 57 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Finishing:

Join shoulder seams.

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.

For pockets on fronts, pick up 35 sts across 1st row of Basic Patt and cont in Basic Patt.

When piece measures 12 cm from picking up, work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 17 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Join side seams of pockets.

Along front edges, with crochet hook, work 5 rnds sc while making buttonholes evenly spaced on right front.

Pick up sts along neckline and work in Basic Patt.

When piece measures 8 cm from cast on, work in Rib Patt.

When piece measures 10 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Sew on buttons.
