Cardigan with Aran Pattern

Size: L

Materials:

Yarn: 800 g (50% Wool, 50% Acrilic, yardage = 280 m / 100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 4 mm (US 6).

Rib Pattern: * K2, P2, rep from * throughout.

Basic Pattern: 

Work acc to сhart 1. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 1-8 throughout.

Aran Pattern: 

Work acc to сhart 2. Only RS rows are shown.

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Work Rows 1-40 once, then repeat Rows 5-40 throughout.

Back: 

Cast on 72 sts and work 8 cm in Rib Patt.

Cont in Basic Patt.

When piece measures 85 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Right Front: 

Cast on 42 sts and work 8 cm in Rib Patt.

Cont to work in Aran Pattern.

When piece measures 65 cm from beg, shape neck: at right end, bind off 1 st 21 times on every 2nd row. 

When piece measures 85 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Left Front: Work in reverse.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 32 sts and work 8 cm in Rib Patt. Inc 10 sts evenly across last WS row = 42 sts.

Cont in Basic Patt.

Sleeve Shaping: Inc 1 st each side every 6th row. 

When piece measures 48 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Sew shoulder seams. 

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.

Pick up sts along side edges of fronts and neck edge. Inc 1 st after each 3rd st to prevent edge from tightening, and work in Rib Pattern.  

When piece measures 10 cm from cast on, bind off all sts.
