Yarn: 800 g (50% Cotton, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 170 m/50 g); one pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 4 mm (US 6); one crochet hook size 3 mm (US C).
Stockinette stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.
Rib Pattern: K1, P1 Rib.
Tubular Rib Pattern: alt slip K1, hold at back, P1.
On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.
Work according to chart 1. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows, work all sts and yos P.
Increases are shown in chart.
Repeat Rows 1-62 once.
Work according to chart 2. Only RS rows are shown.
On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.
Decreases are shown in chart (Rows 77-100).
Hem (= 2 pieces):
Cast on 119 sts and work in Rib Patt.
When piece measures 2 cm from beg, work 10 rows in St st.
Then cont in Diamond Pattern from Row 1 to Row 100.
When piece measures 51 cm from beg, work Tubular Rib Pattern.
When piece measures 53 cm from beg, put aside.
Rep for other piece.
Then work back and front.
When piece measures 53 cm from beg, cont in Basic Patt.
Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 15 cm from beg of back, bind off 4 sts at both ends and on every 2nd row 3 sts once and 2 sts twice.
Put work aside.
Front: Work same as back.
Pick up 30 sts on either side of back. Then transfer sts of back and work in rnds in Basic Pattern (work even-numbered rows acc to chart, work odd-numbered rows K).
When piece measures 8 cm from beg, bind off all sts.
Sew side seams.
With crochet hook, work around top edge acc to chart. Work 1 rnd sc (single crochet) around armhole edges.
