Tunic with Lace Pattern

tuniSize: L-XL

Materials: 

Yarn: 500 g (100% Cotton, yardage = 380 m/100 g); one pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 2.5 mm (US 1.5), 40 cm long.

Stockinette stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Garter st (gst): RS and WS rows K.

Lace Pattern: 

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown. 

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Gauge: 24 sts and 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Work top down.

Front: 

Cast on 71 sts and work in St st. 

For widening, make 3 sts out of center st on every RS row. Work them as they appear on foll row. 

Work as established till end. 

After 68 rows (= 139 sts), cast on 3 more sts each side = 149 sts. 

tuniOn WS row, work all sts K. 

On foll row, start working in Lace Pattern. Dec 1 st on every 2nd row each side. 

Work 3 row reps, then work in St st. Dec 1 st on every 4th row each side. 

Work 62 rows. Then work 8 rows in gst, then bind off all sts.

Work same for back.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 25 sts and work in St st. 

For widening, indent 3 sts from edge on each side and inc 1 st (= make K1 tbl from horizontal strand) on every 2nd row.

Thus, inc 30 sts each side = 85 sts. 

Then cast on 3 more sts each side.

On WS row, work all sts K. 

On foll row, start working in Lace Pattern, beg with 8th st of patt rep.

Work 3 row reps, then work in St st.  

For sleeve slants, dec 1 st 18 times each side on every 8th row.

When piece measures 63 cm from beg, work 6 rows in gst and bind off all sts.

Finishing: 

Sew raglan seams and side seams. 

With circular needle, pick up sts evenly along neck edge from RS as foll: 34 sts on back, 68 sts on front, and 14 sts on each sleeve. 

Next, work 40 rnds K and bind off all sts.
