Top with Lace Panels

Sizes: S-M

Materials: 

Yarn: 150 g (50% Linen, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 50 g/175 m); 1 pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, size 3.5 mm (US 4) each; crochet hook size 3.5 (US E).

Rib Patt 2: K2, P2 Rib. 

Rib Patt 3: K3, P3 Rib.

Rib: 

Row 1 (WS): Knit. 

Row 2 (RS) and Row 3 (WS) : Knit.

Row 4 (WS): * Using RH needle, pick up the stitch of 2nd row from WS, slip it onto LH needle and work K2tog (the slipped over stitch and the following one), rep from *.  

Raised WS row on RS has been made due to drawing in two rows. 

Gauge: 18 sts x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Working: 

Top is worked until armholes in rnds. 

With circular needle, cast on 148 sts and work in Rib Pattern 2 for 4 cm in rnds. 

Work P2 at both ends betw front and back (72 sts each side). 

Alternate lace panels consistently: 18 rows acc to charts 1-3 and 14 rows acc to chart 4. Work rib after each panel. 

When work measures 37 cm from beg, inc 1 stitch twice on every 2nd row on either side of each side line.  

When piece measures 40 cm from beg, divide work into front and back (76 sts each) and complete them separately on straight needles. Cont pattern alternation.

Back: 

Neckline Shaping: After 53 cm from beg, bind off center 18 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding at inside edge bind off 3 sts once and 2 sts 4 times on every 2nd row. 

When piece measures 58 cm from beg, bind off rem 18 sts each side for shoulders.

Front: 

Neckline Shaping: After 46 cm from beg, bind off center 14 sts and complete both sides separately. 

For rounding at inside edge bind off 3 sts once, 2 sts twice and 1 st 6 times on every 2nd row. 

When piece measures 58 cm from beg, bind off rem 18 sts each side for shoulders.

Finishing: 

Sew shoulder seams. 

With circular needle, pick up sts evenly around neck edge and work in Rib Pattern 3.

For better fitting, bind off P1 on the three central patt reps of front and back. 

Cont until band meas 3 cm. Bind off all sts loosely. 

Pick up sts evenly around armhole edge and work 4 rows acc to chart 1 and 4 cm in Rib Pattern 3, then bind off all sts.
