Sweater with Cables

sweaterSize: XL.

Materials: 

Yarn: 250 g (10% Mohair, 10% Wool, 80% Acrylic, yardage = 530 m/100 g); one pair quick knit needles and one circular needle, both size 2 mm (US 0).

Cable Pattern: Multiple of 14 + 9 + 2 selv sts.

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown. 

On WS rows work all sts as they appear, purl yos.

Rib Patt: alt K1, P1 Rib.

Back: 

Cast on 123 sts and work in Cable Pattern (= 14-st patt rep 8 times + 9 sts + 2 selv sts). 

Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 36 cm from beg, bind off 10 sts at each end = 103 sts. 

Work even 19 more cm.

Sleeve Shaping: Bind off 10 sts on every 2nd row 3 times at each end. Then bind off rem 43 sts for neck.

Front: 

Work like back, but with neckline.

To do that, when armhole meas 15 cm, bind off center 23 sts and complete both sides separately.

For rounding at inside edge bind off 2 sts 5 times on every 2nd row. 

Shoulder Shaping: When armhole meas 19 cm from beg, bind off outer 10 sts on every 2nd row 3 times.

Sleeves: 

Cast on 67 sts and work in Cable Pattern (= 14-st patt rep 4 times + 8 sts + 2 selv sts). 

Sleeve Shaping: Inc 1 stitch every 3.5 cm 10 times at each end = 87 sts.

Cap Shaping: When work measures 44 cm from beg, at each end bind off 6 sts once, 5 sts once, 4 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts twice, 3 sts once, 4 sts once, 5 sts once, 6 sts once and rem 7 sts once on every 2nd row.

Finishing: 

Sew shoulder seams.

Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves. 

Collar: With circular needle, pick up 108 sts evenly around neck edge and work in Rib Patt in rnds. 

Collar Shaping: Inc 2 sts at each end every 5 cm.

Cont until collar meas 27 cm. Bind off all sts loosely.
