Short Sleeve Sweater in Textured Pattern
Yarn: 250 g (55% Cotton, 45% Polyacrylonitrile, yardage = 160 m/50 g); quick knit needles sizes 2.5 & 3 mm (US 1.5 & 2.5).
Rib Patt: K2, P2 Rib.
Reverse stocking stitch (Rev St st): Work RS rows P and WS rows K.
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Using needles size 2.5 mm, cast on 90 sts and work 12 cm in Rib Patt.
Cont in St st with 3 mm needles, dec 6 sts evenly across the 1st row = 84 sts.
Armhole Shaping: When piece measures 27 cm from rib, at both ends bind off 4 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st twice = 68 sts.
Work even 17 cm more.
Neckline Shaping: After 17 cm from armhole beg, bind off center 20 sts and complete both sides separately.
For rounding at inside edge bind off 2 sts twice and rem 20 sts once for shoulder.
Using needles size 2.5 mm, cast on 90 sts and work 12 cm in Rib Patt. Inc 6 sts evenly across last row = 96 sts.
Cont with 3 mm needles as foll: selv st, 17 sts in Rev St st, 60 sts in patt acc to chart, 17 sts in Rev St st, selv st.
Armhole Shaping: After 27 cm from rib, work as for back = 80 sts.
Neckline Shaping: After 10 cm from armhole beg, bind off center 20 sts, dec 6 sts (2 sts tog 3 times) and complete both sides separately.
For rounding at inside edge dec 3 sts once, work 2 sts tog 3 times, then dec 1 st 7 times.
When armhole measures 19 cm, bind off rem 20 sts for shoulder.
Using needles size 2.5 mm, cast on 62 sts and work 12 cm in Rib Patt.
Cap Shaping: At each end bind off 4 sts once, 1 st 18 times and rem 18 sts once.
Sew one shoulder seam.
Pick up 40 sts along back neckline edge and 70 sts along front neckline edge = 110 sts.
Then work 20 cm in Rib Patt and bind off sts as they appear.
Sew collar seam and shoulder seam.
Sew side and sleeve seams. Set in sleeves.
