Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 8 sts + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 19 sts (4 + 8 + 5 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 8 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 4 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 5 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: knit all sts.

Row 3: edge st, k3, k2tog, * yo, k6, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; yo, k4, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, k2tog, yo, * k1, yo, skpo, k3, k2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, skpo, k2, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, k2tog, yo, * cdd, yo, skpo, k1, k2tog, yo *; repeat from * to *; cdd, yo, skpo, k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, skpo, yo, k1, yo, * (k1, yo) twice, cdd, yo, k1, yo *; repeat from * to *; (k1, yo) twice, k2tog, edge st.

Row 11: knit all sts.

Row 13: edge st, k4, * k3, k2tog, yo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; k3, k2tog, yo, edge st.
