Size (head circumference): 56-57 cm.

Materials:

Yarn: 150 g (100% Cotton, 85 m/50 g); 1 one pair quick knit needles size 3 & 4 mm (US 2.5 & 6).

Fancy Rib Pattern:

Work according to chart. RS and WS rows are shown.

Repeat rows 1-4 throughout.

Gauge:

28 sts and 30 rows with 4 mm needles = 10x 10 cm.

Using needles size 3 mm, cast on 120 sts and work 17 rows in Fancy Rib Patt.

On WS Row 18 inc sts as foll:

K1, * inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, K2, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, (K1, P2) 3 times, K1, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, K2, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, K2tog, rep from * 3 more times, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, K2, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, (K1, P2) 3 times, K1, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, K2, inc 1 st pwise in each of foll 2 sts, K1 = 156 sts.

Cont with 4 mm needles as foll:

Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Row 5 and 6: Rep Row 1 and 2.

Row 4-9: Work 3 times as Rows 2-3.

Row 10: Repeat Row 2.
