Hat and Snood

Hat (head circumference) = 55 cm.

Snood: width = 66 cm, height = 35 cm.

Materials:

Yarn: 50% Wool, 50% Acrylic, yardage = 240 m/100 g; 1 pair of knit needle size 4 mm (US 6), 3 buttons.

Stockinette stitch (St st): Work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Garter st (gst): K every row.

Cable Pattern: 

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown. 

On WS rows, work all sts as they appear.

Repeat Rows 5-20 throughout.

Hat:

For top, cast on 92 sts and work 2 cm in St st. 

Divide work into 6 wedges. 

Dec 1 st on each wedge on every 2nd row. 

When piece meas 6 cm from cast on, draw rem sts together and finish off. 

Cast on 30 sts and work in gst. Join to cast-on row of top on each row.

Work desired height and bind off all sts.  

Sew seam. 

Sew buttons onto seam.

Snood:

Cast on 59 sts and work in Cable Patt. 

When piece measures 66 cm from beg, bind off all sts.

Sew seam.

Work string and pull it along seam.
