Diagonal Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Diagonal Stitch:

Work with multiple of 14 sts + 2 edge sts. 

Cast on 16 (14 + 2 edge sts) stitches and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side rows.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear.

The patt rep = 14 sts wide.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

Row 1: edge st, * p4, k3, p4, k3 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: work each stitch as it appears on this side of work (k the k sts and p the p sts).

Row 3: edge st, * p2, k3, p4, k3, p2 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * k3, p4, k3, p4 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * k1, p4, k3, p4, k2 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * p3, k3, p4, k3, p1 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Row 11: edge st, * p1, k3, p4, k3, p3 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Row 13: edge st, * k2, p4, k3, p4, k1 *, repeat from * to *, ending with edge st.

Repeat Rows 1 through 14 for pattern.
