Checker Stitch Knitting Pattern
How to knit Checker Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 26 sts (3 + 12 + 9 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.
Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.
The patt rep = 12 sts wide.
2/3 Right Cross: slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K3tog tbl, K2 from cable needle
2/3 Left Cross: slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K2, K3tog tbl from cable needle
Row 1 (RS): edge st; make 3 sts (K1, yo, K1) into 1 st; k2, * p6, k2, [make 3 sts (K1, yo, K1) into 1 st] twice, k2 *; repeat from * to *, p6, k2; make 3 sts (K1, yo, K1) into 1 st; edge st.
Row 2 (WS): edge st; slip 3 pwise, leave yarn at front of work; p8, * p2, (slip 3 pwise, leave yarn at front of work) twice, p8 *; repeat from * to *, p2; slip 3 pwise, leave yarn at front of work; edge st.
