V-Neck Sweater Knitting Pattern

V-Neck Sweater Knitting Pattern

Size: Medium.

Materials:

Yarn: 500 g (75% Acrylic, 21% Wool, 4% Viscose, yardage = 210 m/100 g); 1 pair quick knit needles size 5.5mm. 

Rib Pattern: K1, P1 Rib.

Stockinette stitch (St st): work RS rows K and WS rows P.

Reverse stocking stitch (Rev st st): Work RS rows P and WS rows K.

Fancy Pattern: Multiple of 20 + 2 + 2 edge sts.

Work according to chart. Only RS rows are shown.

On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear, purl yo's.

Repeat Rows 1-18 throughout.

Back:

Cast on 92 sts and work 5 cm in Rib Patt for border, inc 4 sts evenly across last WS row = 96 sts.

Continue in Fancy Pattern.

For Armhole Shaping, when piece measures 42 cm from beg, bind off 4 sts at each end, then on every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 stitch once. 

When work measures 20 cm from beg armhole, bind off sts.

Front:

Work like back, but with V-neck as foll:

After 38 cm from beg, bind off center 2 sts and complete both sides separately.

For Neck Slant, bind off 1 stitch on every 4th row 14 times at neck edge.

For Armhole Shaping, when piece measures 42 cm from beg, bind off 4 sts at each end, then on every 2nd row 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 stitch once. 

When work measures 20 cm from beg armhole, bind off sts.

Work the other side in same way.

Sleeves:

Cast on 40 sts and work 8 cm in Rib Patt for border, inc 2 sts evenly across last WS row = 42 sts.

Continue in Fancy Pattern.

For the Sleeve Shaping, increase 1 stitch on every 10th row 11 times at each end.

For the Cap Shaping, when piece measures 48 cm from beg, bind off 4 sts at each end, then 3 sts every other row once and 2 sts once, 1 stitch every 4th row 4 times, 2 sts every other row 3 times.

Bind off the remaining sts.

Repeat for other sleeve.

Finishing:

Sew shoulder and side seams.

Pick up 61 sts, distributing them evenly between the center of the front neckline and the middle of the back neckline, then work in Rib Pattern, while decreasing 1 st 3 times along the edge of the front neckline on every 2nd row.

When piece measures 3 cm from beg, bind off sts.

Work the other side in same way, reversing all shaping.

Sew the edges of the neck in the middle of the back and front.

Sew sleeve seams and set in sleeves.
