Hat in False Brioche Pattern

Head circumference approx 52-55 cm.

Width approx 22,5 cm

Length 24 cm.

Materials:

100 g Alize Cotton Gold (49% wool, 51% acrylic, 390 m per 100 g ball); one dpn and one circular needle, both size 3 mm.  

Basic Pattern:

False Brioche Stitch (in rnds): Multiple of 4 sts.

Rnd 1: *K3, p1; rep from * around.

Rnd 2: P1, *K1, P3, rep from * to last 3 sts, K1, P2.

Repeat these 2 rnds for pattern.

Instuctions:

With circular needle, loosely cast on 124 sts and join for working in Basic Pattern in rnds.

When piece measures 20 cm from cast on, begin the decrease as foll:

Work over k sts of rib s2kpo (= slip K1 with preceding st tog kwise, K1, pass two slipped stitches over) = 64 sts.

Work 4 rnds in pattern, then work every p st together with foll k st = 32 sts.

Work 1 rnd kwise and then always work K2tog. 

Then finally break yarn and thread through remaining 16 sts. Pull up tight and fasten off securely.
