Cable Stitch Knitting Pattern
How to knit Cable Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 26 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 28 stitches (26 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only Right Side rows.
On Wrong Side rows, work all sts as they appear, work yo's P.
The patt rep = 26 sts wide.
Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.
yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch
2-st RT: skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st LT: knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st RTp: knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, purl the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
2-st LTp: purl 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle
Cr3F: slip 1 st to 1st cable needle and hold in front; slip 1 st to 2nd cable needle and hold in back; K1; then K1 from 2nd cable needle and K1 from 1st cable needle
C7F: slip 4 sts to cable needle, hold to front, K3, K4 from cable needle
C7B: slip 3 sts to cable needle, hold to back, K4, K3 from cable needle
Row 1: 1 edge st, * p3, 2-st LTp, k1, 2-st RTp, p3, k6, p1, k1, p1, k6 *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge st.
Row 3: 1 edge st, * p4, Cr3F, p4, k5, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k5 *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge st.
Row 5: 1 edge st, * p3, 2-st RT, k1, 2-st LT, p3, k4, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k4 *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge st.
