Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 8 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 19 sts (4 + 8 + 5 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The patt rep = 8 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

K3tog: knit 3 stitches together

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (RS): edge st, k1, k3tog, yo, * k1, yo, sk2p, k1, k3tog, yo *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, sk2p, k1, edge st.

Row 2 (WS): edge st, p2, yo, p2, * p1, yo, p3, yo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p1, yo, p2, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k2tog, yo, k2, * k3, yo, cdd, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k3, yo, skpo, edge st.

Row 4: purl all sts and yo's.

Row 5: edge st, k1, yo, sk2p, * k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, sk2p *; repeat from * to *; k1, k3tog, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 6: edge st, p2, yo, p2, * p1, yo, p3, yo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p1, yo, p2, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k3, * yo, cdd, yo, k5 *; repeat from * to *; yo, cdd, yo, k3, edge st.

Row 8: purl all sts and yo's.
