Leaf Stitch Knitting Pattern #173

How to knit the Leaf Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 16 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 18 stitches (16 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and the yarn overs.
The pattern repeat is 16 stitches wide.
Repeat the pattern between edge stitches throughout.

Abbreviation:
k: knit
yo: yarn over
k3tog: knit 3 stitches together
sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

Written row-by-row instructions:
Row 1 (right side): 1 edge stitch, * k9, yo, k1, yo, k3, sk2p *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.
Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): purl all stitches and the yarn overs.

Row 3: 1 edge stitch, * k10, yo, k1, yo, k2, sk2p *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.
Row 5: 1 edge stitch, * k3tog, k4, yo, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, yo, k1, sk2p *; repeat from * to *; end with 1 edge stitch.
