Material:
- 400 g yarn (100% cotton, 226 m / 200 g)
- Knitting needles size 4.0 mm (US size 6)
Used Patterns:
- Ribbing: *k1, p1*, repeat from * to *.
- Stockinette stitch: knit on RS, purl on WS
- Reverse garter stitch: purl all rows
Wave Pattern:
Work according to the chart. Both right-side and wrong-side rows are shown.
Numbers on the right indicate RS rows, on the left WS rows.
The pattern repeat is 17 stitches wide.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.
Fantasy Pattern:
- Row 1 (RS): purl all stitches.
- Row 2 (WS): * p2tog, repeat from * throughout, end with 1 purl.
- Row 3: p1, * make 1 purlwise (lift strand and purl), p1, repeat from * to end.
- Row 4: p1, yo,* p2tog, yo, repeat from *, end with p2tog.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern.
Simple Decrease:
Slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over (sl1-k1-psso)
Gauge:
Stockinette stitch: 20 stitches × 22 rows = 4 × 4 in (10 × 10 cm)
Written Instructions
Back:
Cast on 76 stitches and work the hem as follows: 4 sts in stockinette stitch, 68 sts in wave pattern, 4 sts in stockinette stitch.
After 12½ in (32 cm), continue as follows: 4 sts in reverse garter stitch, 68 sts in wave pattern, 4 sts in reverse garter stitch.
After 15¾ in (40 cm), continue as follows: 4 sts in reverse garter stitch, 9 sts in stockinette stitch, 50 sts in fantasy pattern, 9 sts in stockinette stitch, 4 sts in reverse garter stitch.
At 15¾ in (40 cm), begin shaping armholes: bind off 2 sts at each side, 3 times.
At 17¼ in (44 cm), begin shaping the neckline: bind off the center 32 sts and continue each side separately (16 sts each).
At 20 in (51 cm), bind off shoulder stitches.
Front:
Work same as back.
Sleeves:
Cast on 42 stitches and work as follows: 4 sts in stockinette stitch, 34 sts in wave pattern, 4 sts in stockinette stitch.
After 3½ in (9 cm), continue: 9 sts in stockinette stitch, 24 sts in wave pattern, 9 sts in stockinette stitch; at the same time, decrease 2 sts at each side, 3 times.
At 6¼ in (16 cm), continue in ribbing pattern.
At 7 in (18 cm), bind off all stitches.
Work the second sleeve the same way and set both aside.
Finishing:
Sew shoulder seams (2¾ in / 7 cm each).
Sew side seams (15¾ in / 40 cm each), leaving 7½ in (19 cm) open for armholes.
Sew underarm (3½ in / 9 cm) and upper sleeve seam (3½ in / 9 cm), and attach sleeves to armholes.
