Relief Diamond Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Relief Diamond Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 12 sts + 1 + 2 edge sts.

Cast on 27 sts (6 + 12 + 7 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 12 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 6 sts before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 7 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

cddp (Central Double Decrease): transpose the order of the first and second stitch on the left needle; then purl the three stitches together

Row 1: edge st, p2tog, p3, yo, k1, * k2, yo, p3, cddp, p3, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; p2, yo, p3, p2tog tbl, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, p2tog, p2, yo, k2, * k3, yo, p2, cddp, p2, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k3, yo, p2, p2tog tbl, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, p2tog, p1, yo, k3, * k4, yo, p1, cddp, p1, yo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; k4, yo, p1, p2tog tbl, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k2, yo, p3, * cddp, p3, yo, k3, yo, p3 *; repeat from * to *; cddp, p3, yo, k2, edge st.
