Leaves Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Leaves Stitch:

Work with multiple of 14 stitches + 13 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 29 sts (6 + 14 + 7 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 14 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 6 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 7 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

k3tog: knit 3 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, k2, * k3, k3tog, (yo, k1) 3 times, yo, sk2p, k2, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k3, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, (k1, yo) twice, sk2p, k1, * k2, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, k1, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k2, k3tog, (yo, k1) twice, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, * k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k2, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k3, yo, skpo, yo, * cdd, yo, k2tog, yo, k7, yo, skpo, yo, repeat from * to last 9 sts, cdd, yo, k2tog, yo, k3, edge st.

Work Rows 1-14 once, then repeat Rows 3-14 throughout.
