Leaves Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Leaves Stitch:

Work with multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 sts (5 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The pat rep = 10 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 5 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 6 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Rows 1 and 3: edge st, k1, yo, k2, k2tog, * k1, skpo, k2, yo, k1, yo, k2, k2tog, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k1, skpo, k2, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, yo, k2, * cdd, k2, yo, k3, yo, k2, repeat from * to last 8 sts, cdd, k2, yo, k2, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k3, yo, k1, * cdd, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1, repeat from * to last 8 sts, cdd, k1, yo, k3, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k4, yo, * cdd, yo, k7, yo, repeat from * to last 8 sts, cdd, yo, k4, edge st.

Rows 11 and 13: edge st, k1, skpo, k2, yo, * k1, yo, k2, k2tog, k1, skpo, k2, yo, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k1, yo, k2, k2tog, k1, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, skpo, k2, yo, k1, * k2, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, k1, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k2, yo, k2, k2tog, edge st.

Row 17: edge st, skpo, k1, yo, k2, * k3, yo, k1, cdd, k1, yo, k2, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k3, yo, k1, k2tog, edge st.

Row 19: edge st, skpo, yo, k3, * k4, yo, cdd, yo, k3, repeat from * to last 7 sts, k4, yo, k2tog, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-20 throughout.
