Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 stitches (5 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only right-side rows.

On wrong-side rows, purl all stitches and any yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat is 10 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 5 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 6 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

k3tog: knit 3 stitches together as one

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, k1, yo, k2tog, k2, * k3, skpo, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with k3, skpo, yo, k1, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, k2, yo, k2tog, k1, * k2, (skpo, yo) twice, k1, yo, k2tog, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, (skpo, yo) twice, edge stitch.
