Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 26 stitches (6 + 12 + 6 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work stitches as they appear; purl yarn-over loops, when knitting double yarn over, purl first yarn over, knit second yarn over. 

The pattern repeat = 12 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 6 stitches before patt rep, work patt rep throughout, end with 6 stitches after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, p2, k4, * k4, p4, k4 *; repeat from * to *; k4, p2, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear on this side of work; purl yarn-over loops, when knitting double yarn over, purl first yarn over, knit second yarn over. 

Row 3: edge stitch, k1, p1, k4, * k4, p1, k2, p1, k4 *; repeat from * to *; k4, p1, k1, edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, yo, k1, p1, skpo, k2, * k2, k2tog, p1, k1, double yarn over, k1, p1, skpo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k2, k2tog, p1, k1, yo, edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, k1, yo, k1, p1, skpo, k1, * k1, k2tog, p1, k1, yo, k2, yo, k1, p1, skpo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, k2tog, p1, k1, yo, k1, edge stitch.

Row 9: edge stitch, k2, yo, k1, p1, p2tog, * p2tog, p1, k1, yo, k4, yo, k1, p1, p2tog *; repeat from * to *; p2tog, p1, k1, yo, k2, edge stitch.

Row 11: edge stitch, k4, p2, * p2, k8, p2 *; repeat from * to *; p2, k4, edge stitch.

Row 13: edge stitch, k4, p1, k1, * k1, p1, k8, p1, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, p1, k4, edge stitch.

Row 15: edge stitch, k2, k2tog, p1, k1, * double yarn over, k1, p1, skpo, k4, k2tog, p1, k1 *; repeat from * to *; double yarn over, k1, p1, skpo, k2, edge stitch.

Row 17: edge stitch, k1, k2tog, p1, k1, yo, k1, * k1, yo, k1, p1, skpo, k2, k2tog, p1, k1, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; k1, yo, k1, p1, skpo, k1, edge stitch.

Row 19: edge stitch, p2tog, p1, k1, yo, k2, * k2, yo, k1, p1, p2tog twice, p1, k1, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; k2, yo, k1, p1, p2tog, edge stitch.

Repeat Rows 1-20 throughout.
