Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 16 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 19 stitches (16 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work stitches as they appear; purl yarn-over loops. 

The pattern repeat = 16 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 stitch after patt rep and 1 edge stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * (k1, p1) twice, yo, skpo, k2tog, yo, p1, yo, skpo, k2tog, yo, p1, k1, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear on this side of work; purl yarn-over loops.

Row 3: edge stitch, * (p1, k1) twice, p1, k2tog, yo, k1, p1, k1, yo, skpo, (p1, k1) twice *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, * (k1, p1) twice, k2tog, yo, k2, p1, k2, yo, skpo, p1, k1, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge stitch.
