How to knit Lace Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 7 stitches + 2 + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 18 stitches (1 + 7 + 7 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.
The numbers at right edge of chart indicate Right Side rows, and at left edge Wrong Side rows.
The pattern repeat = 7 stitches wide.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
p: Purl
yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one
p2tog: purl 2 stitches together as one
p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop
skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch
Written Pattern:
Row 1 (right side): edge st, p1, * p1, k1, yo, cdd, yo, k1, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 2 and even-numbered rows (wrong side): edge st, k1, * k1, p5, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge st.
Row 3: edge st, p1, * p1, k5, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 5: edge st, p1, * p1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 7: edge st, p1, * p2tog, yo, k3, yo, p2tog tbl *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Row 9: edge st, p1, * p1, k5, p1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge st.
Repeat Rows 1-10 throughout.
