Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 14 sts (12 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The patt rep = 12 sts wide.

Repeat patt between edge stitches throughout.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl two stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

2-st RT: skip 1 st, knit 2nd st before first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

2-st LT: knit through the back loop 2nd st behind first st, without dropping from LH needle, knit the first st, drop both sts from LH needle

Row 1 (RS): edge st, * p5, k2, p5 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 2 (WS): edge st, * k5, p2, k5 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 3: edge st, * p4, 2-st RT, 2-st LT, p4 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 4: edge st, * k3, p2tog tbl, yo, p2, yo, p2tog, k3 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * p2, k2tog, yo, p1, k2, p1, yo, skpo, p2 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Row 6: edge st, * k1, p2tog tbl, yo, k2, p2, k2, yo, p2tog, k1 *; repeat from * to *; edge st.

Repeat these 6 rows for pattern.
