Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 20 stitches + 8 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 30 sts (4 + 20 + 4 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows, and at left edge WS rows.

The patt rep = 20 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1 (RS): edge st, yo, k2, k2tog, * skpo, k2, yo, k1, yo, k3, k2tog, skpo, k3, yo, k1, yo, k2, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; skpo, k2, yo, edge st.

Rows 2, 4 and 6 (WS): purl all sts and yo's.

Row 3: edge st, k1, yo, k1, k2tog, * skpo, k1, yo, k3, yo, k2, k2tog, skpo, k2, yo, k3, yo, k1, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; skpo, k1, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, yo, k2tog, * skpo, yo, k5, yo, k1, k2tog, skpo, k1, yo, k5, yo, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; skpo, yo, k2, edge st.

Rows 7 and 9: edge st, k4, * k5, p10, k5 *; repeat from * to *; k4, edge st.

Row 8: edge st, p4, * p5, k10, p5 *; repeat from * to *; p4, edge st.

Rows 10, 12 and 14: purl all sts and yo's.
