Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with a multiple of 10 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 23 sts (5 + 10 + 6 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work sts as they appear; work yo’s Purl. 

The patt rep = 10 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 5 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 6 sts after patt rep and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, p1, yo, k2tog, k2, * k3, skpo, yo, p1, yo, k2tog, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with k3, skpo, yo, p1, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, p1, yo, k1, k2tog, k1, * k2, skpo, k1, yo, p1, yo, k1, k2tog, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, skpo, k1, yo, p1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, (p1, yo) twice, k2tog, * cdd, skpo, (yo, p1) 3 times, yo, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; end with cdd, skpo, (yo, p1) twice, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k3, skpo, yo, * p1, yo, k2tog, k5, skpo, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, yo, k2tog, k3, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k2, skpo, k1, yo, * p1, yo, k1, k2tog, k3, skpo, k1, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, yo, k1, k2tog, k2, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, skpo twice, yo, p1, yo, * (p1, yo) twice, k2tog, cdd, skpo, yo, p1, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with (p1, yo) twice, k2tog twice, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
