Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with a multiple of 15 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 18 sts (15 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all sts and yo’s.

The patt rep = 15 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st, work patt rep throughout, end with 1 st after patt rep and 1 edge st.

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

K3tog: knit 3 stitches together 

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, * k1, yo, sk2p, k3, yo, k2, yo, k3, k3tog, yo *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows: purl all sts and yo’s.

Row 3: edge st, * k1, yo, k1, sk2p, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, k3tog, k1, yo *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * k3, skpo, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, k2tog, k1 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, * k2, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, k4, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, * k2, yo, k2, yo, cdd, k2, cdd, yo, k2, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, * k2, yo, k2, yo, k1, cdd twice, k1, yo, k2, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *, k1, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-12 throughout.
