Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch: 

Work with multiple of 12 stitches + 6 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 20 sts (3 + 12 + 3 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work all sts and yo’s P.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

Begin with 1 edge st and 3 sts before patt rep, work patt repeat throughout, end with 3 sts after patt and 1 edge st.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

k3tog: knit 3 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: edge st, yo, skpo, k1, * k2, k3tog, (yo, k1) 3 times, yo, sk2p, k1, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k3, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, k1, yo, skpo, * k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k1, k2tog, yo, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, yo, * cdd, yo, k1, yo, k2, cdd, k2, yo, k1, yo, repeat from * to last 5 sts, cdd, yo, k1, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, yo, k2, * cdd, k2, yo, k1, yo, cdd, yo, k1, yo, k2, repeat from * to last 5 sts, skpo, k2, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k3, * k2, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, k1, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, k1, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k3, edge st.

Row 11: edge st, k3, * k1, yo, k1, yo, sk2p, k3, k3tog, yo, k1, yo, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k3, edge st.

Row 13: work as for Row 9.

Row 15: work as for Row 7.

Row 17: work as for Row 5.

Row 19: work as for Row 3.

Repeat Rows 1-20 throughout.
