Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with multiple of 22 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 25 sts (22 + 1 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

Read RS rows from right to left, WS rows from left to right.

The pat rep = 22 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together

p2tog tbl: purl 2 stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

Row 1 (RS): edge st, * k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k2, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k2, (k2tog, yo) twice, repeat from *, end with k1, edge st.

Row 2 (WS): edge st, p1, * p1, (yo, p2tog) twice, p11, (p2tog tbl, yo) twice, p2, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 3: edge st, * k3, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, yo, skpo, yo, sk2p, yo, k2tog, yo, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k2, repeat from *, end with k1, edge st.

Row 4: edge st, p1 * p3, (yo, p2tog) twice, p7, (p2tog tbl, yo) twice, p4, repeat from *, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, * k5, (yo, skpo) twice, k2, yo, skpo, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k4, repeat from *, end with k1, edge st.

Row 6: purl all sts and yo’s. 

Row 7: edge st, * k6, (yo, skpo) twice, k3, (k2tog, yo) twice, k5, repeat from *, end with k1, edge st.

Row 8: purl all sts and yo’s. 

Row 9: edge st, * k7, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k6, repeat from *, end with k1, edge st.

Row 10: purl all sts and yo’s. 

Repeat Rows 1-10 throughout.
