Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

How to knit Lace Stitch:

Work with multiple of 12 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 sts (6 + 12 + 7 + 2 edge sts) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only RS rows.

On WS rows, work all sts and yo’s P.

The pat rep = 12 sts wide.

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1: knit all sts.

Row 3: edge st, k3, k2tog, yo, k1, * (yo, skpo) twice, k5, k2tog, yo, k1, repeat from * to last 8 sts, (yo, skpo) twice, k3, edge st.

Row 5: edge st, k2, (k2tog, yo) twice, * k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k3, (k2tog, yo) twice, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k2, edge st.

Row 7: edge st, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, * k2, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k2, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, edge st.

Row 9: edge st, k5, * yo, cdd, yo, k9, repeat from * to last 9 sts, yo, cdd, yo, k5, edge st.

Row 11: knit all sts.

Row 13: edge st, (yo, skpo) twice, k2, * k3, k2tog, yo, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k2, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k3, k2tog, yo, k2, edge st.

Row 15: edge st, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, * k2, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k1, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k2, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, edge st.

Row 17: edge st, k2, (yo, skpo) twice, * k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k3, (yo, skpo) twice, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k1, (k2tog, yo) twice, k2, edge st.

Row 19: edge st, k2tog, yo, k4, * k5, yo, cdd, yo, k4, repeat from * to last 8 sts, k5, yo, skpo, edge st.

Repeat Rows 1-20 throughout.
