How to knit the Lace Stitch:
Work with a multiple of 26 stitches + 2 edge stitches.
Cast on 28 stitches (26 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.
The chart shows only right-side rows.
On wrong-side rows, work stitches as they appear and purl any yarn overs.
The pattern repeat is 26 stitches wide.
Repeat the pattern between the edge stitches throughout.
Abbreviation:
k: Knit
yo: yarn over
p2tog: purl 2 stitches together as one
p2tog tbl: purl 2 stitches together as one stitch through the back loop
Written Instructions:
Rows 1, 3, 5 and 7 (right side): edge stitch, * k3, p2tog tbl, k1, (yo, k1) twice, p2tog, k16 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear on this side of work; purl any yarn over.
Row 9: edge stitch, * k2, p2tog tbl, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, p2tog, k15 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Row 11: edge stitch, * k1, p2tog tbl, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1, p2tog, k14 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Row 13: edge stitch, * p2tog tbl, k1, yo, k7, yo, k1, p2tog, k13 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Rows 15, 17, 19 and 21: edge stitch, * k16, p2tog tbl, k1, (yo, k1) twice, p2tog, k3 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
Row 23: edge stitch, * k15, p2tog tbl, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, p2tog, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.
