Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 20 stitches + 3 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 25 stitches (1 + 20 + 2 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to the chart.

The chart shows right-side rows and wrong-side rows.

The numbers at right edge of the chart indicate right-side rows, and at left edge wrong-side rows.

Read right-side rows from right to left, wrong-side rows from left to right.

The pattern repeat is 20 stitches wide.

k: knit

p: purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

p2tog: purl 2 stitches together as one

p2tog tbl: purl 2 stitches together as one stitch through the back loop

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches 

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, k1, * k8, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k7 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, edge stitch.

Row 2 (wrong side): edge stitch, p2 * p6, p2tog tbl, yo, p3, yo, p2tog, p7 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 3: edge stitch, k1, * k6, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k5 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, edge stitch.

Row 4: edge stitch, p2, * p4, (p2tog tbl, yo) twice, p3, (yo, p2tog) twice, p5 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.
