Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 16 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 19 stitches (16 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows Right Side rows and Wrong Side rows.

The numbers at right edge of chart indicate Right Side rows, and at left edge Wrong Side rows.

Read Right Side rows from right to left, Wrong Side rows from left to right.

The pattern repeat = 20 stitches wide.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Rows 1 and 3 (right side): edge stitch *, p3, skpo, k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, k2tog, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 (wrong side): Purl.

Row 5: edge stitch, * p3, skpo, k2, yo, k3, yo, k2, k2tog, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, * p3, skpo, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1, k2tog, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Rows 9 and 11: edge stitch, * p3, skpo, yo, k7, yo, k2tog, p2 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Rows 13 and 15: edge stitch, * k1, yo, k3, k2tog, (k1, p1) twice, k1, skpo, k3, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge stitch.

Rows 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24: edge stitch, p1, * p5, (k1, p1) twice, k1, p6 *; repeat from * to *; end with edge stitch.

Row 17: edge stitch, * k2, yo, k2, k2tog, (k1, p1) twice, k1, skpo, k2, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge stitch.

Row 19: edge stitch, * k3, yo, k1, k2tog, (k1, p1) twice, k1, skpo, k1, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, edge stitch.
