Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 12 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 27 stitches (6 + 12 + 7 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and any yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 12 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 6 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 7 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, k1, skpo, k3, yo, * k1, yo, k3, k2tog, k1, skpo, k3, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with k1, yo, k3, k2tog, k1, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, k1, skpo, k2, yo, k1, * k2, yo, k2, k2tog, k1, skpo, k2, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, yo, k2, k2tog, k1, edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, (k1, yo, skpo) twice, * (k1, k2tog, yo) twice, (k1, yo, skpo) twice *; repeat from * to *; end with (k1, k2tog, yo) twice, k1, edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, k2, yo, skpo, k1, yo, * cdd, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k1, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with cdd, yo, k1, k2tog, yo, k2, edge stitch.
