Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 20 stitches + 3 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 25 stitches (1 + 20 + 2 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and any yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 20 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 1 stitch before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 2 stitches after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

K3tog: knit 3 stitches together as one

sk2p: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 2 together and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted together stitches

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, k1, * k1, k2tog, yo, k4, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k4, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, yo, * sk2p, yo, k4, (k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo) twice, k4, yo *; repeat from * to *; end with sk2p, yo, edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, k1, * k2, yo, skpo, (k1, k2tog, yo) twice, k1, (yo, skpo, k1) twice, k2tog, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, k1, * k3, yo, k3tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skpo, k2, yo, sk2p, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with k2, edge stitch.
