Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 18 stitches + 1 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 21 stitches (18 + 1 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, work stitches as they appear; purl any yarn-over loops. 

The pattern repeat = 18 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 1 stitch after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: Knit

p: Purl

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * p1, k2tog, yo, k4, k2tog, yo, p1, yo, skpo, k4, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): work stitches as they appear on this side of work; purl any yarn-over loops.

Row 3: edge stitch, * p1, k5, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo, skpo, yo, skpo, k5 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, * p1, k4, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo, p1, yo, skpo, yo, skpo, k4 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, * p1, k3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo, k1, p1, k1, yo, skpo, yo, skpo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 9: edge stitch, * p1, k3, p1, k2tog, yo, k2, p1, k2, yo, skpo, p1, k3 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 11: edge stitch, * p1, k2, p1, k2tog, yo, k3, p1, k3, yo, skpo, p1, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.

Row 13: edge stitch, * p1, k1, p1, k2tog, yo, k4, p1, k4, yo, skpo, p1, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with p1, edge stitch.
