Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 22 stitches + 11 + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 35 stitches (5 + 22 + 6 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and any yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 22 stitches wide.

Begin with 1 edge stitch and 5 stitches before the pattern repeat, work the pattern repeat throughout, end with 6 stitches after pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch.

k: knit stitch

p: purl stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch

cdd (Central Double Decrease): slip first and second stitches together as if to knit, knit 1 stitch, pass two slipped stitches over the knit stitch

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, yo, k3, k2tog, * k1, skpo, k3, yo, k4, yo, cdd, yo, k4, yo, k3, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; k1, skpo, k3, yo, edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, k1, yo, k2, k2tog, * k1, skpo, k2, yo, k3, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skpo, k3, yo, k2, k2tog *; repeat from * to *; k1, skpo, k2, yo, k1, edge stitch.
