Lace Stitch Knitting Pattern

Work with a multiple of 16 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 18 stitches (16 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and any yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 16 stitches wide.

Repeat pattern between edge stitches throughout.

k: knit stitch

p: purl stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * k2, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k2 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, * k1, yo, skpo, k2, yo, skpo, k2, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog, yo, k1 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, * k4, yo, skpo, k4, k2tog, yo, k4 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, * k3, yo, skpo, k6, k2tog, yo, k3 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Repeat rows 1-8 throughout.
