Lace Heart Stitch Knitting

Work with a multiple of 22 stitches + 2 edge stitches.

Cast on 24 stitches (22 + 2 edge stitches) and work according to chart.

The chart shows only Right Side Rows.

On Wrong Side Rows, purl all stitches and any yarn-over loops.

The pattern repeat = 22 stitches wide.

Repeat pattern between edge stitches throughout.

k: knit stitch

yo: yarn over

k2tog: knit 2 stitches together as one

skpo: slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch 

Row 1 (right side): edge stitch, * k2tog, k3, yo, k4, yo, skpo, k2tog, yo, k4, yo, k3, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 2 and all even-numbered rows (wrong side): Purl.

Row 3: edge stitch, * k2tog, k3, yo, k3, yo, k1, skpo, k2tog, k1, yo, k3, yo, k3, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 5: edge stitch, * k5, yo, skpo, yo, k2, skpo, k2tog, k2, yo, k2tog, yo, k5 *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 7: edge stitch, * k2tog, yo, k4, yo, k3, skpo, k2tog, k3, yo, k4, yo, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 9: edge stitch, * k2tog, k1, yo, k3, yo, k3, skpo, k2tog, k3, yo, k3, yo, k1, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Row 11: edge stitch, * k2tog, k2, yo, k2tog, yo, k10, yo, skpo, yo, k2, skpo *; repeat from * to *; end with the edge stitch.

Repeat rows 1-12 throughout.
